There is good news for students who are unsuccessful in class IX,  X, XI and XII examinations from any recognised boards like CBSE, ISC, UP BOARD and other state Boards, conveyed it in press release. All such unsuccessful (failed) students may now get admitted under Stream-2 of NIOS and can appear in October 2014 examination and get results in the first week of December of the same year, it said. The other unsucessful students also have the option of appearing in Stream-1  whose exams are held every year in April. Students may find to get admission in Stream-2 sometimes because this stream of NIOS is only open for 3 months from June to Augest every year.

Without getting distressed over losing a year, the students can appear from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in examination scheduled in October every year. 
 
 
Announcing this new scheme, Shri Suvendu Sekhar Das, NIOS Regional Director said that unsuccessful candidates of class X and XII examinations from various Boards could get enrolled in Stream-2 through online or offline mode by July 20 and can appear in the October examination, the release further said.
 
Popular among the NIOS vocational courses running in Accredited Vocational Institutions (AVIs) are Cutting Tailoring and Dress Making, Beauty Culture, Advanced Web Designing, Housekeeping, Homeopathy Dispensing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Community Health, Plumbing, Solar Energy Technician, Retail Management, Hospitality Management etc, it added.
